Notes regarding time

You will not be able to enter the building any earlier than 10:45am – but you are welcome to walk around the property and take a look at our farm animals if you would like to arrive early!

Description

The “Little Bookworms” story time provides an age appropriate activity that fosters a sense of responsibility and compassion in our youngest visitors, from those in strollers to those in preschool. We invite our community’s youngest animal lovers to join us with their adult counterparts for weekly story time in our Education Room on Fridays. During the half hour session, we read an animal friendly short story, and we bring in an adoptable animal to visit with the attendees. Afterward, families are welcome to head out to our adoption floor and look at the many animals here at Nevins Farm! Registration for individuals is not required. And while there’s no cost, donations are always welcome.

Schedule For the School Year: Held between the second Friday in September to the second Friday in June, from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Education & Training Room (located to the far left of the Nobel Family Animal Care and Adoption Center). Please note that the animal shelter is closed to the public during this time, and you will not be able to enter the building any earlier than 10:45 am – but you are welcome to walk around the property and take a look at our farm animals if you would like to arrive early! We will have toys and coloring pages for the kids to play with, but feel free to bring any toys or snacks with you from home. We do not hold Little Bookworms during Massachusetts School Vacation weeks, or if Methuen Public Schools are canceled due to inclement weather conditions.
