Summer Fun with Zoo New England

Zoo New England will also be hosting exciting events for families looking to keep their kiddos busy during summer break. Please see details below:

      Plastic Free July, Zoo New England, July 1st – July 31st: Join the movement to refuse single-use plastics. The Plastic Free Ecochallenge is a month-long effort for all of us to reduce our single-use plastic consumption. Discover, learn, and explore new ways to take care of wildlife and the world we all share.Sign up with the Zoo New England Plastic Free July team, and throughout the month, share your progress and reflections with fellow EcoChallengers.

·       Storytelling and STEM Activities, Stone Zoo, July 28th & August 1st, 10:00am – 11:00am: Calling all animal and book lovers: join Stone Zoo for a wild experience where stories come to life amidst the sounds of nature and the exciting backdrop of the Zoo! The program starts with a tale from children’s author Yumi Izuyama, followed by a presentation from Lark Studio’s Kendall Inglese featuring arts and crafts. These fun-filled activities, inspired by science and technology, include coloring, origami and paper weaving. Event is included with general admission.

·       World Lion Day, Franklin Park Zoo, August 10th, 10:00am – 1:00pm: In honor of World Lion Day, learn more about these majestic animals and why conservation efforts on their behalf are so important. Visit our 14-year-old lion brothers Dinari and Kamaia at their home in Kalahari Kingdom. During special zookeeper chats, learn what it’s like to care for these animals each day as well as the threats lions face in the wild.Event is included with general admission.

·       Zoo Bop, Franklin Park Zoo, August 13th, 10:00am – 2:00pm: We're hosting the ultimate family-friendly music event celebrating the wonder of wildlife and the joy of music. Zoo Bop takes place on the recently renovated Bird’s World patio in front of Raptor Ridge. Highlights include: live DJ, face painting, bubble show, photobooth, keeper chats, plus games and activities. Event is included with general admission.
