Situated in the heart of Lawrence, Massachusetts on the Merrimack River, the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program provides safe, affordable boating opportunities to all residents of the Merrimack Valley.

Founded in 1979 by a group of local businessmen led by Abe Bashara of Bishop's Restaurant, the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program was created to provide boating education, recreation, and a positive summer experience for all youth and adults in the Merrimack Valley. With just six boats, a tent, and a used dock, these businessmen set out to do just that.

Come to SUMMER-FEST 2023 at the Abe Bashara Boathouse on June 17th, from 11 am to 3 pm.  Everything is free for the day.  Kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, boat rides, bouncy house, BBQ.  Red Sox tickets give away.  Come and have some fun and invite your friends.
