PCCD’s was on Eye Opener on Channel 5!

The Professional Center for Child Development shares Three Good Things!

By PCCD February 17, 2023

Welcome to PCCD’s THREE GOOD THINGS

A chance to enjoy some really cool, positive stuff going on. Sharing happiness, gratitude, and joy in 3 short stories.

The Children of PCCD introduce the Eye Opener on Channel 5!

The students are sharing the love they receive from teachers, friends, and supporters every day with our community partners.  Students from our Anderson and Woodbridge Schools spent the last couple of weeks decorating and coloring Valentine's Day cards for DPW, firefighters, police officers, and others in our community who do so much. Some of them came to PCCD to meet the children who created these treasures to thank them personally.

In fact,  it's an awesome thing for our Anderson School students to be able to share their pride in a next step, a new way to communicate, an accomplishment, or an act of kindness with friends, family, and teachers.

PRIDE in the Journey!

PRIDE in who they are!

PRIDE in where they are going!

We love to partner with other non-profits to meet the needs of our PCCD students, children, families, and the wider community - partnering for the good of everyone by recognizing different areas of expertise and established infrastructures.  We rely on each other as a community to meet the needs of the people in our care. It's the community definition of WIN-WIN-WIN!

One such non-profit partner is TKC - The Kindness Collaborative.  Their team has stepped in our gap twice in significant ways recently. In December the team rallied to collect 21 new specific-to-the-child educational toys for families in our EI program who otherwise might not have had these teaching gifts to give to their children for Christmas.

This week, TKC invited the Random Acts of Kindness Group at Lowell High School to fill 100 EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT KITS for the EI families we serve.  These backpacks will be full of selected educational and therapeutic toys and games the TKC community has purchased and collected.  The EI team at PCCD leaves these kits behind after Early Intervention visits so families can continue therapy work (disguised as play) between EI visits. This is crucial to successful development strides for these little ones and would not be possible without this partnership effort by TKC.
