Summer Reading Book Clubs

Register for a summer reading program at your local library!  They have several awesome prize incentives too! See some brief descriptions below and links to get registered 

1. Andover: The Children's Room will have many activities related to the summer reading program beginning the week of June 27th!  Stop by anytime that date or after to sign up for On your Mark...Get set...READ!!!  Every time you read and return to the library you will also have a chance to win the weekly raffle.  If you complete your reading log you will get a prize pack.  Then you can keep reading to add to our total and get chances to win prizes.  We will also have our Be a Good Sport game, Find our Mascot game, fun moving activities in the back of the room, our craft table, trivia games and more!  Pick up your calendar of school age events to see what programs are running and which performers are coming so you can sign up early!  We'll have Ed the Wizard, Wayne Potash, Library Kung Fu, Sciencetellers and author Matt Tavares!  Are you ready???  The On your Mark...Get Set....READ Summer Reading program is sponsored by The Friends of Memorial Hall Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

 Help choose the next book to read. Signup in the Children's Room to get a copy of each month's book selection. Elementary book clubs meet on the LAST Tuesday of the month.

3. Boxford Library- Link
Teens :Read a book or listen to an audiobook (school required reading counts) and earn a chance to win a $10 Amazon.com or iTunes gift card. The more you read the more chances to win.
Another way to earn an entry is to complete the challenges. Every challenge = one entry! Two drawings a week for 6 weeks.
Kids: Sign up online here or at the library and get a special reading log.  When you visit the Library, put your name on a paper soccer ball, set of sneakers, or running dog – to help decorate our Library!
Read for 20 hours during summer and log all your reading by August 10th and claim your prizes!  Prizes may be picked up at the Library between August 22nd and September 12th, 2016.
For just 20 hours of reading this summer, you win a free book to keep, courtesy of the Friends of the Library! You will also receive a prize package from the Topsfield Fair including free admission, free food, and ride passes!

4.Georgetown LibraryChildren ages birth -6th grade are invited to join the summer reading program. Click link to register
Prizes are: 600 minutes of reading – free book
1200 minutes – a prize package from the Topsfield fair (including a ribbon, free admission ticket for children 8- 13 yrs (under 8 is free), a voucher for a hot dog and soda, and a ride ticket)  One per child.
1800 minutes –  a second free book
*For the Topsfield Fair Prize, you must report your time by August 9th.  You can continue reading for the additional book prizes until August 26th.

5. Groveland- Summer wellness reading program ages k-6Read 420 minutes (7 hours) to win the Topsfield Fair Prize Pack!  click link to register 
6. Haverhill- On Your Mark, Get Set for MAGIC and Summer Reading Kick Off 
7:00pm-8:00pm  Join us for Magician extraordinaire - Steve The Magic Guy - as he dazzles us with incredible feats of magic in his show - "On Your Mark, Get Set For MAGIC".  Steve helps us kick off the Summer Reading season with a showtime of 7:00 pm.
Registration for Summer Reading for ages 0 - 18 begins at 6:00 PM.  Come and pick up your Summer Reading Packet!

7. Haverhill Public Library-
ADULT Reading Program-  Saturday, June 4th and goes through Saturday, August 27th! It’s simple! Read a book, sign into your summer reading account and log it. Keep reading and at the end of the summer the top two readers* will win a prize pack from the library! Adults 18 and up can register to participate here.
*Winners of previous Adult Summer Reading prizes are not eligible to win this year, but we highly encourage that you participate!

9. Merrimac Public Library
Ages 3 – 6:  Register and get your reading logs at the library. 
Ages 7 – 12:  Pick up a Summer Reading BINGO card at the library. Ages 13 & Up:  Register and record your reading online - Click link 
Kick off event June 28th: Starts at 6pm for all ages and families. Mime, comedian, and yoga instructor Robert Rivest will teach families how to move, laugh, and relieve stress while having fun. At this event children ages 3-6 can register and get their reading logs, ages 7-12 can pick up their summer reading Bingo cards, and teens can register and log their summer reading online. Enjoy some yummy refreshments too!”

10Methuen Library- On Your Mark, Get Set… Read!™ is the theme of the 2016 summer reading program for children (pre-K to grade 6). Click here to sign up for programs using our online registration system. Program registration starts on June 15th at 2:00pm To participate in a special prize drawing for items in the Boston Bruins "When You Read, You Score" program or get the prize incentive to the Topsfield Fair, children in grades K to 6 must meet a minimum reading goal of 5 age-appropriate books on their online reading logs by August 8th . To create your online reading log; go to www.readsinma.org and select the city of Methuen. Choose the age of your summer reading program and then find the words Join here on the form. Fill out the form and you are ready to record the books you will read this summer. If you need assistance, call the Children’s Department at ext. 26.

11Topsfield Library- 
Ages 4 and under- Print out our Summer Reading Bingo card! Score a bingo vertically, horizontally, or diagonally by participating in these activities. When you score a bingo, return your sheet to the Topsfield Town Library for your prize! One prize per child, please. All sheets are due by Wednesday, 8/10/16 at 4:30 PM.
Ages 5-12- Log your reading online! If you read for 2 hours a week, you are eligible to be entered into a prize drawing EVERY FRIDAY! In addition, if you complete 16 hours, you will be eligible for the Topsfield Fair prize pack, which includes one admission ticket to individuals over 8 (under 8s already get in for free!), a hot dog and drink voucher, 2 ride tickets, and a “Read and Win” ribbon. You will also be eligible for other prizes! All logs are due by Wednesday, 8/10/16 at 4:30 PM.
